Services Offered

I’m excited to work together with you if you feel ready to sit down, have a transparent discussion about what is taking place, what your goals are and actively discuss treatment options. Let’s address underlying causes as opposed to treatments to target symptoms. Someone who is devoted to getting a clear picture (although maybe there are uncomfortable truths) of what is creating the issues at hand and addressing them at their roots has a far better prognosis. Let’s talk about what is causing the depression and anxiety, what you’d like to see change in life.
As a board certified doctor, I’m trained with a deep understanding of physiology and pharmacology. The extensive training an ACGME accredited psychiatry residency offers provides much more specialized working knowledge than a non-physician or even a primary care provider. This starts with an accurate diagnosis.
My visits are longer than the usual 15 minute “med check.” I perform brief therapy during visits and have colleagues who are excellent evidence based therapists. My prescribing practices are minimalist with emphasis on only prescribing if necessary, minimum dose necessary and only for as long as necessary and balancing this with achievement of goals.

Visits include psychoeducation, some cognitive behavioral work, psychodynamic approaches, and motivational interviewing. We’ll explore what is bringing you in to each appointment. Exploration is offered about how developmental influences, certain thinking patterns and more affect how we feel, behave, our life outcomes and how the cycle ensues.

We can take the time to talk about medications and other treatment options. We discuss the pros and cons of each as well as no treatment at all. We also discuss more about what is going on in life and factoring in to how you are feeling to give a complete assessment and thorough plan of care.
