My Approach to Therapy in Milwaukee
If you find yourself anxious in relationships, carrying more than your share emotionally, questioning your worth, or feeling disconnected from your own needs, therapy can become a space to slow down and understand what is driving those patterns. Dr. Khan works across the lifespan, helping clients shift longstanding attachment dynamics, strengthen self-esteem, clarify identity and values, and address the mind–body effects of chronic stress and pain. Her work is individualized, culturally attuned, and depth-oriented — fostering emotional steadiness, healthier boundaries, and the confidence to pursue meaningful goals. Through this process, clients deepen self-trust, feel more empowered in who they are, and move through life with clarity and authenticity.
Her work focuses on shifting longstanding attachment dynamics, strengthening identity and values, and addressing the mind–body effects of chronic stress and pain. Integrating psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, she offers individualized, culturally attuned, depth-oriented therapy designed to foster emotional steadiness, healthier boundaries, and the confidence to pursue meaningful goals. Through this process, clients deepen self-trust, feel more empowered in who they are, and move through life with greater clarity and authenticity.
As part of her doctoral training, Dr. Khan completed practicum work at the Medical College of Wisconsin, providing therapy to individuals coping with chronic pain and medical stressors. She also completed her predoctoral internship with the Department of Corrections, strengthening her experience with complex trauma and high-acuity clinical presentations. In addition to her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, she holds a Master’s degree in Community Psychology and brings a systems-informed perspective that considers cultural, familial, and environmental influences on mental health.
If you are seeking thoughtful, culturally attuned therapy in Milwaukee or online throughout Wisconsin and are ready for meaningful, lasting change, you are invited to schedule your first appointment.

Identity & Values Work
A central part of Dr. Khan’s work involves helping clients clarify who they are and what truly matters to them. Many individuals have spent years organizing their lives around others’ expectations, cultural pressures, or survival patterns. Therapy becomes a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with personal values. As clients strengthen their internal compass, they often experience greater confidence in decision-making, healthier boundaries, improved stress management, and a deeper sense of fulfillment in both their relationships and overall well-being.
Philosophy
Dr. Khan believes therapy should be both supportive and empowering. Her approach blends compassion with clarity, helping clients build insight without judgment and boundaries without guilt. She views emotional and physical health as interconnected and works with clients to foster resilience in both mind and body.
Healing is not about fixing who you are. It is about understanding your story, strengthening your sense of self, and creating relationships and life choices that feel aligned and sustainable. She prioritizes individualized care and meaningful therapeutic depth to support lasting change.
